DO YOU
RECOGNIZE ANY OF THESE FACES?

They belong to the members of the "Animal
Coalition of Tennessee, " a.k.a. "ACT," a group of philosophical
extremists who support animal rights.
ACT’s original purpose was to serve as a
"coalition. . . to create better
laws for animals in TN, specifically mandatory spay/neuter and limiting
chaining and cruel confinement. . . our goal is to take Tennessee out of
the dark ages of rampant animal abuse and create a brighter future for
animals."
Rather insulting to most Tennesseans, huh?
Keaven Van Lom, one of ACT’s principals, noted, "As we present ACT
to legislators and the public, we will need to write a better summary
blurb." So you can know them better, here are a number of direct
quotes from ACT members taken from their email list, animalcoalitionoftn@yahoogroups.com:
"We have enslaved the rest of the animal
creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so
badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they
would depict the devil in human form"
quote by William Ralph Inage, Tagline to Msg.
330.
"...if the animals aren't born in the first
place, then we won't have to keep rescuing them."
Msg. 44.
"I often think that Animal Liberation Front
(the ALF) is the best method of action. I do yours, you do mine. . . . I
don't want to wait for legislation to be enacted or enforced..."
Msg. 131
"The best solution is to have mandatory
spay/neuter programs for humans."
Msg. 116.
"I am a member of PETA, HSUS, PCRM, ALDF, and
a few more animal rights groups..." Msg. 207.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP in ACT per its
FOUNDERS, as stated in Msg.
289:
2) Members
have no vested interest in breeding or purchasing animals.
5) Demonstrate responsible pet guardianship
including neutered pets, safe, humane confinement, and compliance
with all animal-related laws and ordinances.
It is ACT’s belief that you can’t own an unneutered
animal "responsibly." It is ACT’s belief that you don’t have a "vested
interest" (legal right) to breed or purchase animals. And, if you think
otherwise, you can’t be a member of ACT!
ACT is an animal rights oriented organization
opposed to breeding.
"...animal rights
extremism has had direct, collateral, and indirect effects on animal
enterprises or industries."
